Is it Time to See the Dentist?

Posted .

If you develop a toothache, lose a tooth, or suddenly notice a loose tooth, your next call will probably be to our dentist, Dr. Holly Krystek. But for good oral health, you shouldn’t wait for a problem or a dental emergency to schedule an appointment.

You should see the dentist at least twice a year for your regular cleanings and exams. This is a chance to have members of our dental team clean the plaque and tartar from your teeth, and to have our dentist check for problems like cavities or gum disease. This is also a great chance to get some pointers on where you might need to step up your oral hygiene routine.

Outside of that, you should call the dentist any time you notice a change in the color or texture of your teeth or any part of your mouth. If you experience any pain, or if you notice blood when you brush, floss or eat, you should plan a visit to the office. If you are diagnosed with a disease or medical condition, you should let our office know. If you start a new medication, even if it is just a vitamin or herbal supplement, give us a call. It is also a good idea to give us the name and phone number of your primary care physician. If you find out that you are pregnant, or are trying to get pregnant, you should make an appointment.

Do any of the above situations apply to you or a member of your family? Has it just been awhile since you have seen us, then maybe it’s time you dropped in for a visit at Lifetime Dentistry in Muscatine, Iowa. Call 563-263-9082 today to plan your visit.
